The telecast did a side-by-side with his motion from the previous batter when no balk was called, and there was no difference. Of course, the previous batter was Caballero, so maybe the ump was just trying to fuck him over before he got around to fucking Sale.

He starts in the set position, so if he wants to use his windup he has to declare it and he has to do it before pitching to each batter. He did before pitching to Caballero, but did not for the next hitter. It’s a clear as day balk.

There seems to be no listing of who the various hybrid pitchers are but regardless, the pitcher with an “ambiguous stance or unconventional delivery” is required to declare his intent to prior to each at bat when there is a runner on base. I would like to know who any other “hybrid” pitchers are.
