I do not think she was, but I was not there. The target was an SI reporter, I think.

Bingo.

It was Footer

Great, it was Footer, then she really needs to step up her game of being against Domestic Violence regardless of the team.

This story is very ugly and far bigger than baseball, but the schadenfreude of this happening to Trevor Bauer is real. Irrespective of his guilt or innocence, at least for the time being he will finally shut the fuck up.

ā€œRegardless of guilt or innocenceā€ is the mantra anytime anyone makes an allegation. I am not talking about Osuna or Chapman or Bauer; I am talking about society in general. Allegations=guilt to many. As I told many a HR Director: allegations are not guilt, an arrest is not guilt, you must do a thorough investigation and decide what you believe happened. Neither the alleged victim nor the alleged perp is entitled to be believed. Suspend or admin leave immediately, investigate thoroughly with no assumptions, decide what happened, punish if warranted.

MLBā€™s hypocrisy in the Bauer case was unbelievable. Let him make his next start? WTF?

MLB isnā€™t letting him make his next start, the Dodgers publicly said they would let him start unless MLB said otherwise. MLB said otherwise. The Dodgers and Dave Roberts used MLB as cover.

The initial report was he would make his next start. The second report finally injected some sense into it.
ETA: I do not care if it was LAD or Manfred; both are MLB.

ā€œAs of now, weā€™re kind of in the middle of letting the commissionerā€™s office, Major League Baseball, handle this,ā€ Roberts said from D.C. on Thursday, adding that Bauer is with the team and was getting ready to play at Nationals Park. ā€œItā€™s in their hands right now, and right now, our direction was to just move forward and not do anything as far as the player or Trevor, so our plan is he is gonna start on Sunday.ā€

This is 100% the Dodgers organization being too cowardly to do the right thing first.

Right. If somebody is accused of something like this, youā€™re first move shouldnā€™t be ā€œwell let me check with corporateā€. Put the person on leave and sort it out. But then again, this isnā€™t something really bad like banging on trash can lids.

MLB didnā€™t make a statement yesterday, Dave Roberts did. Itā€™s laughable that a baseball manager would tell fans he has no control over who his Sunday starter will be.

Look! I said I did not care who made the statement. Both are MLB hypocrites.

If you want make sure I know you are right, post again. That will be four.

Iā€™m right. Thatā€™s four.

There is no doubt the Dodgers and MLB have been in contact since the moment this story broke.

Robertsā€™ comments were comically bad.

Dave Robertsā€™s statements yesterday were ridiculous, itā€™s his team he can do what he wants on the field, cowardly to say ā€œMLB made me do itā€

But as far as MLB goes, read their CBA policy on suspensions and investigations, (Iā€™d like to get the take on it from some the owa lawyers) it looks to me like thereā€™s a set of actions that were put in motion the minute MLB began investigating the incident, with step one being Bauer is suspended with pay for 7 days.

Thereā€™s also no doubt the Dodgers and Trevor Bauer were informed of the March 23rd memo about foreign substances, the gameday compliance monitoring process that was described therein, and the potential suspensions for players and/or personnel violating the rule. That somehow didnā€™t stop Bauer from going on ESPN and MLBN on multiple occasions to misinform fans that MLB was changing the rules in the middle of the season and that they had previously told players to ā€œkeep doing what youā€™re doing, donā€™t change anything, weā€™ll deal with it in the offseason.ā€

That couldnā€™t be more untrue, and this complete load of bullshit went unchallenged by the baseball media because anyone who slams Manfred and MLB is always going to get traction and clicks. This is one instance where good reporters should have pushed back but didnā€™t. Why was Bauer lying about this? Did he have a performance incentive? Was he pitching clean?

Bauer and the Dodgers have a severe credibility problem imo.

As a lifelong, loyal Houston Astros fan now living in SoCal, Iā€™ve endured the mind numbingly inane bullshit from dojer backers the past 2.5 yrs. Iā€™m going to sit back with glee and watch this shit show with that worthless c&$t Bauer and the hated dojers.

But, as we all know, banging trash cans is the worst blight on the history of humanity EVER.

Changing the subject (we need a separate Trevor Bauer thread btw)ā€¦

How the fuck did Zack Wheeler become the best pitcher in baseball this side of Jacob deGrom?
