We should let CLE have the last 3 games. It spites the Yankees and the Yankees fear the Astros in a potential ALDS matchup.

Let JV go deep into his start. Play Whitcomb at 3b every day. Don’t send a cutoff man out for Jake. Make Altuve swing at only sliders. Go all out.

Bob Nutting strikes again.

Because of him, I’m cancelling my Mother Earth News subscription.

So unless I am missing something, if both the Tigers and Royals win today, the Mariners are eliminated

They would slip beneath the waves, as it were.

Correct. The Mariners have to win out and need one of the Tiger or Royals to lose out. Any win by both the Tigers or Royals, or any loss by the Mariners and they are sunk. They also have to get by the Twins who are 1/2 game up on them and also hold the tiebreaker over them. The Twins have the tiebreaker over all of them, but they have to have help and need a couple of losses by the Tigers and Royals.

The hurricane has rained out the last two NYM-ATL games, which will be played as a DH on Monday the Mets play in Milwaukee this weekend, meaning they could go Milwaukee-Atlanta-San Diego in the span of 3 days

I thought I heard something about maybe playing those rainout games in AZ. But that may just be my imagination. Anybody else hear anything like that?

It’s a really remarkable job by Manfred to have found the worst possible solution to an easily predicted problem.

Maybe they can play those games in a “neutral site” like Milwaukee, like the Astros got to do in ‘08.

Slurp shit in perpetuity, bud selig.

If the timing’s right, I’ll drop the deuce.

Their chances for the postseason would surely be torpedoed.

A comparable “neutral site” for those games would be Yankee Stadium

Tigers and Royals both win in their last at bats. Mariners eliminated. Twins must win tonight to stay two back with three to play.

Rangers and A’s playing the final game at the Coliseum. A’s, leading 3-0 in the 5th, scored run number 3 when Langford Hamiltoned a high fly ball into a sunny left field.
