From what I’ve seen, several of the rookie umps don’t have much business in MLB.
I messed around with throwing a screwball as a kid, and it hurt my elbow to throw it. I stopped. My sinker would break the same way and would have more down action.
Yeah, I saw that article. I don’t recall seeing a lot of screwball pitchers, but what velocity did their screwballs sit, relative to their fastballs? Seems that some two seamers and change up pitchers get similar movement.
Screwballs are thrown hard, but the elbow action takes a bit of speed off. The break is what gets hitters because it is opposite from a curve.
Another Tommy John surgery
I didn’t realize he was a phenom.
He’s a Dodger. What else could he be?
A prodigy.
A dicknose of some regard?
Is 23 not a phenom to you? Or is it the fact he’s in his 3rd year?
Hate to see that. Hope his recovery goes well.
At least he’ll have time to work on his prop comedy.
I pegged the Dodgers as AOL types.
Dodgers = AOL (the Death Star)
Giants = Prodigy (once great but got overtaken)
A’s = CompuServe (always hanging around, kinda successful)
Padres = the ISP (cool upstart)
Angels = those local BBSes that always had a busy signal when you tried to connect to them
Cardinals: hackers using someone else’s account
Yankees: Microsoft, just buying whatever they need at the moment.
Maybe the Yankees are Apple, and the Red Sox Microsoft?
Who is Elon Musk? Manfred?
The Yankees are Microsoft, because they stole the whole foundation of their franchise
They are in the big apple.
