Fuck Joe Girardi. He’s just as unlikeable in a Phils uniform. Nobody has ever been tossed for being wild, you whiny prick. You get thrown out for intentionally hitting people, and neither of those looked even a drop intentional to me.
The Philly announcers, just based on that clip, might actually be worse than the Yankee announcers, and that is saying something.
Shildt said in his post-game conference: Due to MLB rules, Cabrera needed to face McCutchen to meet the three-batter minimum. Cardinals skipper Mike Shildt said postgame that he would have removed Cabrera after his pitch to Harper had it not been for the rule.
Who’da thunk it. It’s almost like the 3 batter minimum rule is fucking idiotic.
If the pitcher could have turned around and tagged the runner and been fine, the fact that he made the same motion but tossed the ball to first for the out doesn’t seem to have actually impeded anything.
Did you see all the bullshit experiments the Pioneer League, an MLB partner league, is trying this season? Manfred needs to go before he mucks up the game any more than he already has.
Maybe Shildt would have taken Cabrera out after hitting Harper, maybe he wouldn’t have. Ether way I’m glad he took advantage of the situation to complain about a stupid rule.
I never liked him much even before he was a Yankee. As a Yankee, I thought he was insufferable. Great hitter, and a big time player, but way too much ego for me.
