I love a good Mai Tai and my buddy in Honolulu who’s a bartender makes a superb one. Whenever I layover there, I go see him at the hotel bar for his “Mike-tai.”
We go to Maui tomorrow, so I’ll have one for you there, HH.
Speaking of Honolulu…Mrs Hawk and I will be there and the Big Island at the end of July. We’re looking for restaurant recommendations, so if you have any…
The Aperol Spritz has the been the go-to summer drink of the London insurance set for the last several years, so I’m sure Limey will have plenty of suggestions of what to do with the stuff for variety’s sake.
Somehow my mother in law got talked into a time share during a trip to Hawaii years ago, which after having never been used she transferred to Las Vegas, which is also a destination she hasn’t been to in the 12 or so years I’ve known her. Given that the I’m the only person in my nuclear family who’s been on a plane in the last two plus years, and everyone else simply wants to go somewhere, and there’s free lodging, we made the culturally and meteorologically ridiculous decision to take a family trip to Las Vegas during the week of July 4th.
First, if you guys are going to be in town we’d love to get together for a meal or a drink. Second, what do you recommend to do with a disinterested fifteen year old and an overinterested eight year old other than the obvious day trips to Hoover Dam/Colorado River/Grand Canyon? An Aviators game will certainly also be attended.
Well, this is fun. Through the Fever Tree website, I can order 4 bottles for pickup at my local Walmart for $4.98, an 8-pack for 27.92, and a 24-pack for 35.34
Aviators game is a good idea. There’s a decent amount of hiking nearby (Ty can give you more recent feedback on that) if you like hiking when it’s 130 degrees. You know what, you can drive up to Mt Charleston and hike around up there. The temperatures will be perfectly pleasant. I’ll give it some more thought later and talk with you offline.
