Montero looked great. Hope this outing will be something for him to build on. Montero of last season would be huge for the team.

Baseball, probably more than any other sport, really is a game of inches, where one inch can make all the difference. If Trey Mancini doesn’t make that play at 1B, do the Astros still win the 2022 World Series? We’ll never know, will we. He made the play.

Time to go to Arlington and find a way to win the series against the Rangers.

Touché.

Blanco and Brown the first two games of the series. They both pitched very well against LA. Hope the same offense that showed up against St Louis shows up for this series. If they do, I like our chances.

Never underestimate the heart of a champion

Texas has been bludgeoning team after team to death. We’ll be lucky if the Astros win one in the series.

They just split their series with the Tigers, losing 8-5 tonight. I agree it will likely be a struggle but they are beatable.

Nice try.

It’s the 14 Run Curse now.

Lovvvvvvvvvvved the beat down of the co-ards, as I’ll never get over losing to those fuckwits in the ‘04 NLCS and, of course, the long NL Central rivalry with those slap-dicks will always make me despise them.

Got a bit teary eyed with TK’s professional tackle football homage to the beloved Houston Oilers football club at the end of the game, (rot in perpetual hell bud adams), and I hope that this slugfest might portend good things for the good guys/Houston Astros baseball club against the transplanted Washington Senators/arlington mouth-breathers along with their t-shirt/front runner/fair weather, no talent ass clown fan base.

Let’s go Astros.

The King of Rants, you.

I always enjoyed the rivalry with the Cardinals in the 00s. Of course I wanted to beat their asses, but those were some fun series.

Me too. I never hated the Cardinals.

I missed the Big Red Machine, or else I’m sure I would have hated them because of how the Morgan deal altered both teams trajectories.

My earliest memories are vs Dodgers in old NL West. I hated them then and they never gave me a reason to stop - although my wife was raised a Dodger’s fan and she, in turn raised my step son to be a Dodgers fan.

Hated Mets from '86 on. The Keith Hernandez glove slap still enfuritates me. Such unworthy unlikable players.

Hated the Braves through 90’s but thats gone now.

Always respected the Cards more than hated them.

In 2015 I shifted my fan-hatred to the Yankees.

There have been no real reason to hate any of the AL West teams during the golden age ( the A’s for 2 months in 2020 maybe) but the Rangers may be getting close - buying a winner, the nerve.

So for now, and the last several years its just been the Dodgers, Yankees, and ALWAYS the Mets.

I don’t see those 3 going away for a while.

Other than the years they shared a division with the Astros, I was always a casual fan of the Cardinals. A great and historic franchise, fervently embraced by a silly fan base with a misplaced sense of entitlement.

Also, I’m really happy the Cardinals beat the Rangers in the 2011 WS.

I hated the Cardinals but that’s because of my age. I’m 31 so the Cardinals were the rival growing up for me. I have lost all my Cardinals hate by now. I was at the games both Tuesday and Wednesday, the Cardinals fans at both games could not have been nicer
