Astros @ Cards, 6/29/23

Hear, hear!

I was living in Midland during the Astros dark ages, and it was tough. West Texas was formerly solid Astros country until those uppity Rangers made a run, and the bandwagon got pretty full. It was not unexpected, but it was still annoying as fuck. The second best thing about the 2017 World Series win was knowing it happened before the Rangers ever won one.

Cardinal fans have this strange sense of self worth, but overall are likable. They are nothing like those insufferable assholes in NY, Chicago, or LA.

I donā€™t know that I ever hated them, but I bore a grudge over the whole Co-Champions thing.

Loved watching his meltdown.

Thatā€™s the play that I was leaning towards, although I couldnā€™t remember for certain. I was standing on the floor of the Garden before the game just out of earshot, watching the two talk. Spike was very animatedly telling Rudy something, then the pause, then they both dissolved into laughter. It wasnā€™t until years later that I randomly saw a video (and, crucially, heard the audio) of that exchange. It was quite amazing to a) finally get an answer to something that had been gnawing at me for years and b) to have it be so great.

Starks always says the shot was going in.

Except for the part where the best player on the court blocked it.

Yeah. That part.

Your 30somthing year old 7foot center is not supposed to be defending guards at the 3 pt lineā€¦but he did

Was curious and just checked; it has been rare for JP to face the lineup for the 4th time.
