No one will help us. Keep winning, and beat them head to head. I doubt they sweep the Rangers in all seven games so we must keep pace.

Halfway at the Trop…Mariners lead the Rays 4-2
Rays have come back to lead the Mariners 5-4 in the 7th
Mariners tie it up on a 2-out wild pitch when both the pitcher and catcher went after the ball and no one covered the plate.
Would there have been a play at the plate?
Could have been. Didn’t get that far away from the catcher, and the runner didn’t break right away. But the catcher couldn’t find it and the pitcher went after it too, so the runner broke for home and scored without a play. Would have been a close play had the pitcher covered. Batter struck out to end the inning a couple pitches later.
ETA: Oh, and the runner had reached on an E5.

I’m pretty good with this. The Astros own the tiebreaker vs the Rangers and one of the Rangers or Mariners are guaranteed at least four more losses. And if they don’t win the division, the Astros are better off being the 6th seed than the 5th
