Okay now can we see a picture of Uncle Mike holding today’s paper?
Would his shoulder support the weight of the paper?
Don’t you dare make me hope
Maybe its a tumor
“It’s not a tumor!”
My wife and I use that all the time.
Until I see Michael Brantley in an Astros’ lineup, I’m choosing to block his existence from my mind.
Urquidy on the hill in Corpus for what could be his final rehab start
Sorry if this isn’t new information. Rome was just on with Chris Russo. Russo asked about Brantley and Rome acted like he isn’t close. Said last time Brantley tried to come back, he was fine until he started hitting off high velocity, and then had his setback. While he’s hitting on the field now, the Astros have yet to introduce the high velocity, choosing to take it slow.
New to me. Thanks for sharing.
I’m glad Uncle Mike is still around in the clubhouse but I don’t expect him to take another MLB at-bat.
I wonder if there is an insurance policy involved that doesn’t payoff is he doesn’t appear to be making an effort to get back on the field.
What are you implying here?
Not impying anything really, just wondering how that kind of stuff works. I seem to remember a similar situation with Bagwell having to go to spring training in 2006 in order for a policy to payoff.
Good
I remember seeing a game in Winter Haven against the Indians in the early part of spring training 06. Bagwell was playing first and his shoulder was gone. When they would toss the ball around the infield after an out, the other infielders moved as close to Bagwell as they could. He could only lob the ball. He was gutsy to try but he had to retire a couple of weeks later.
I loved that Winter Haven ballpark.
It was one of my favorite spring training trips when I lived in Florida. Filet mignon afterwards at Christy’s Lounge down the street. That place was a hangout for Tony C, Yaz and the Red Sox when they trained there in the 60’s. Sox were there all the way to 92.
All of the vendors under the stands. I loved the smells.
As mentioned in the gamezone thread, Abreu to the IL and Hensley recalled
Didn’t see it mentioned there but Maton also to the IL and Mushinski recalled
Any word on Maton’s injury? At least he did not do it to himself.
