Wait, did Stanenk go to the IL?
Other than being against the rules, and leaving the team with exactly one 3b capable player, that would make sense.
A new internal option for first base emerges?

Astros plan to announce their update on LMC tomorrow… 5 days post-MRI. Timing is just about right for the typical MRI > Surgery Eval > Second opinion > announcement chain of events.
It’s become pretty clear that the rest/rehab approach isn’t working, and hasn’t for almost 2 years (he didn’t look “right” when he pitched last year). It’s probably time to just go in and fix the problem… hopefully it’s not another full UCL replacement.
Peña out of the lineup. Illness discomfort.
Brace yourselves.
Dana Brown says statement on McCullers will be made this afternoon.
Has it EVER been good news when the GM states he’s going to make a statement in the near future???
Yordan out 4-6 weeks?
And the team was looking for a bat before?
This is bad. . .
Everyone calm down.
He’s just going to confirm what we already know about Lance.
Official statement: “Lance is a great teammate with a certain rugged handsomeness”?
And fantastic hair.
Maybe he’s going to tell us Lance is working with the gas can to learn how to throw left handed.
Just amputate the arm and install a pitching machine.
I was thinking a full Bucky Barnes
Mentioned this to my wife and she said “does he even play baseball?”
“Expected to return during the 2024 season” is disturbingly lacking in detail. I’m guessing if they thought he’d be ready for the start of the season, or even by the All-Star break, they’d have said so.
I have to agree with your wife. I feel bad for McCullers but 5/$85mm is a lot of money to pay for a guy who never plays.
