Yes!..now it’s all coming back to me. Thank you.
Two years later, I think, due to the cancer.
What I distinctly remember is that he broke his upper arm, where the cancer had occurred, and the humerus broke so that you could hear the crack on tv before he screamed. It was haunting.
That’s how I remember it.
Undoubtedly true. The amputation, I think, occurred two years later because of the progression of the cancer.
I once was playing with a guy who broke his arm on a throw. He was in right field and fielded a one hopper, came up throwing to the plate…SNAP. I could hear it 150 ft away. He didn’t scream, but he was in serious pain.
Same happened to Tony Saunders. He didn’t lose his arm though.
No achilleas tear for Odorizzi. Says he will return this season.
Great news. I hope he comes back strong. Hard to not root for that guy.
Considering how it looked, that diagnosis is a miracle.
So, they don’t have a date for the surgery to amputate his foot? This is confusing.
Dravecky later wrote a second book – “When You Can’t Come Back”: When You Can't Come Back: Dravecky, Dave, Dravecky, Jan, Gire, Ken: 9780310585602: Books
Thanks! I’ve added to my wish list.
MLB.com’s latest injury indicates that the team is now confident that LMJ “will pitch in 2022”
Did I miss the part where they thought he wouldn’t?
There was an interview or two in sping training where they were very noncommittal
Updating from “we have no timeframe” to “We are confident he will pitch in 2022” is a step.
They still haven’t acknowledged if he underwent an arm transplant procedure.
Hopefully it’s similar to the one Verlander had.
