McCullers gets a rehab start in SL today, then should be back
Castro catching in SL Friday and Sunday, then should be back
That’s a tough read. Really feel for him.
Good grief. How dumb of him, but I understand.
Wow.
I was wondering about him and why he wasn’t in the mix with all of the IL transactions lately coupled with bullpen issues for the team.
Between Ivey and Emanuel, my respect and sympathy for what some of these guys endure to realize their dreams is much higher after reading that.
We talked a bunch on this site years ago about “pitcherspeak.” A pitcher never wants to admit his arm is hurting and he can’t go, and pitching coaches and managers plead in vain for honesty.
It’s a real life “how far would you go, what would you give up, just to make your MLB debut?”
It is and often may lead to the one appearance only in MLB story.
This!
Very close to allowing the fear of the surgery to effectively abort their career,
Jake Kaplan has an update on Austin Pruitt today. Pruitt (Luhnow’s final acquisition, from the Rays) had surgery four months ago to put a screw in his elbow to fix a hairline fracture. He was cleared to begin throwing on Monday, but he is quarantining after a positive COVID test. He is not expected to be done with his rehab by Opening Day, but will hopefully be throwing off a mound during spring training.
An Austin Pruitt sighting: made a rehab appearance with the Woodpeckers tonight giving up an unearned run on one hit in one IP. 14 pitches, 9 strikes.
Who is this “Pruitt” guy?
Mark Berman (MarkBermanFox26)
Chandler Rome (Chandler_Rome)
Stubbs is an interesting choice. I guess he can play a little outfield, and can make Castro a pinch hit option.
Yeah. It really sucks not having Aledmys right now.
Agreed. Although a lot of us have thought Castro could be used more, so maybe this will give Dusty motivation to plug him in more often without fear of getting stuck without a catcher.
