Aches, Pains and Muscle Strains 2021

Sometime in the last couple of days the broadcast said Maldy was having hamstring issues of some sort, so maybe that played into it also.

eta: Castro’s in the lineup at C tonight

Toro, literally one of the worst non-pitcher hitters in MLB as I write this, is hitting 7th. Immediately following Correa – who has been on base about half the time the last four weeks. I guess we’re just conceding that/those possible run(s), eh Dusty?

I cannot wait for the Dusty PR Tour to end. I feel more than properly punished at this point.

I guess I should be glad Dusty didn’t hit Toro 3rd.

Are you confusing Toro with someone else?

He had 13 PA’s in April and just got called back up. He was, fwiw, hitting .350-something in AAA. Your options at 3B are Toro/Taylor Jones/Robel Garcia (unless they move Yuli over, which just means one of those guys is your 1B)

I was referring to his career OPS of .572 as a major leaguer.

He sucks. Hard. That our other options at 3B are also terrible doesn’t justify putting in a black fucking hole right behind a man who is getting on base at a .479 clip over the past 28 games.

As I said, bat him 9th and Castro 7th. At the very least, Castro may get a hit or two with Correa on base.

He’s also small. Can fit into tight spaces. Good for thieving.

Oh I have absolutely no clue why Dusty does many of the things he does. I agree on the lineup, I’m just not as down on Toro as you are, not that he’s shown much of anything in MLB.

So I just saw the news on Bregman…not his hamstring, as I thought , but his quad. So this is a new injury. Not good.

They said that during the game last night. Dusty already said after the game that it wasn’t good and he expects to lose Bregman for “a while.”

Bregman’s left hamstring hasn’t been 100% all year, we’ll never know and it doesn’t matter but this could be a compensation-type injury.

The hamstring injury was to his right leg. This is his left quad. Still could be a compensation injury, but it’s the other leg.

This says left hammy. Again, not that it matters now.

Read earlier it was his right. But yeah, either way it’s not good.

From my personal experience having torn my hamstring playing rugby (and the several months of physical rehab that followed), I’d say it’s very likely Bregman’s quad injury is result of compensating for his bum hammy.

I’d also say that quad injuries tougher to come back from than a hamstring.

I read this morning it was right hamstring.

Then both his hamstrings have been subpar this year, that goes along with what Blum has been saying for a while. He’s just never been right. Sucks.

Dear god I believe it, Mike.

Worse than my ACL/MCL reconstruction was rehabbing the other muscles. It took 2 years of work just to get reasonably close to my other leg.

When are these players going to understand that working out as if they are preparing to audition for the WWF is not needed and can actually be detrimental. I know you want all your players to have a work ethic and drive (Bregman’s is way up there) but I’m just guessing that he potentially crossed a line this offseason. Think Correa from a couple years ago.

A little low impact yoga changed my knees and back and general outlook on life.

Namaste.
