Yeah, I knew he was in the lineup tonight, but for some reason I was thinking he was STILL feeling “discomfort”
I realize now, that makes no sense that he would be in the lineup if that were the case. I’m just jittery or something.

Astros LHP Kent Emanuel says on Instagram his season is over:
— Brian McTaggart (@brianmctaggart) June 3, 2021
"Over the last couple of weeks, I have seen my performance start to wane. We have realized it’s not just a matter of dealing with arm pain anymore. I will be getting surgery to fix my UCL."https://t.co/j1EBbRQa5h
He ended the instagram post with: Just another road block thrown at my career, something I’ve become all too accustomed to dealing with -Don’t worry, I will be back.
Shit. Poor guy seems snakebit.
Damn.
What a damn shame. He pitched his way onto the team and into an important role, now this.
Shit. Big loss right there.
He is cursed. Very big loss.
That sucks. I really don’t need to see more of Robel Garcia, I guess Toro or Nova could be options?
In other, better, news:
Brantley due back Tuesday; Castro is catching a bullpen session today and that will be a determining factor on his return. Both were victims of the turf in Arlington.
Apparently they will play a man short today then activate Uncle Mike for Tuesday
Nova is down here in Asheville and not exactly lighting the world on fire yet.
Fuck you, Ross Stripling.
Yeah, scratch Nova then. I had no idea he wasn’t in Corpus or SL. I’d much rather have Toro than Garcia, is I guess my point. Not sure Garcia has had more than maybe 3 competitive ABs.
I have no clue why you do not like Garcia, but I have read Toro will be the choice.
You mean counting the walk off hit? A utility infielder is defense first, then hit. He plays once a month. Good grief!
Does this mean that Emanuel been pitching through pain w/ a torn ACL since the beginning of 2020? Can’t imagine…
How is a torn UCL repaired? Is the recovery for a UCL repair more like 9 months?
(The look on his face as he leaves the mound…)
Internal bracing procedure that cuts recovery time to 9 months that can only be used in the case of partial tears.
Pretty sure this newer procedure was covered in some of the numerous threads we’ve had on the subject over the years. But if you can’t find those old threads, just Google Internal bracing procedure and elbow and Tommy John and plenty of articles on it will pop up.
I hate this for Emanuel most of all. He has put in his time in the Minors to get his chance and was doing well at the ML level. And the club could use more LH arms.
