I think the sticky stuff was holding UCL’s together, when they got rid of that, they started coming apart.
Definitely plays a part imo. Without it guys might be gripping the ball tighter, and really whipping their arms to try and get more spin, which could easily lead to more elbow issues
Because of the success, our pitchers as a whole have thrown more than anyone over the last 7-8 years. Sure, all of them haven’t been around for that full run, but it doesn’t change the fact that even over 2-3 seasons, our pitchers have more mileage on their arms by comparison to 90% of other teams. Then add in the WBC which didn’t help our few pitchers who could have used that time to rest.
Was bound to happen I’d say, unfortunately.
Tucker to the 10-day IL retro to 6/4. Shin discomfort.
Fuck. He’ll probably return with one of those carbon fiber artificial limbs.
The Astros are now running NASA.
NASA calls off spacewalk at International Space Station due to ‘spacesuit discomfort’
It was probably a large tear that would have allowed the astronauts’ fluids to be sucked into the vacuum. Some kind of minor discomfort like that.
JV scratches from today’s start. No reason yet given. Arrighetti to start.
“neck discomfort” per Julia
Hopefully he just slept funny.
If the Astros ran the French Revolution:
King Louis XVI is unavailable due to neck discomfort.

Just lovely
JV says the neck has bothered him for “a couple weeks” and he’s been pitching through it, but it worsened to limiting his bullpen sessions.
I was really hoping he just slept wrong. We can’t afford missing any more starters
He has to get to 150 innings.
Its good that its nothing that risks further injury. I’m sure he notified someone and got treatment and OK to pitch before today.
Hopefully it also means he is a bit better the rest of the year.
Right now Blanco is shown as the scheduled starter.

Wow. I wonder what percentage of overall pitchers that is for the org. And, you forgot JV. He’s not in the IL but is discomforted enough to be missing game(s).
I wonder how that compares across the league.
