Aches and Pains 2024

You’re thinking of Willie “Hampton” Hampton.

“Pitch like Hampton, hit like Hampton.”

Wasn’t Willie Hernandez the only reliever to win MVP of a WS?

Hernandez never won World Series MVP, but he won AL MVP in 1984 (Alan Trammell was WS MVP that season). That said, there have been numerous relievers win WS MVP including Rollie Fingers, John Wetteland, and Mariano Rivera.

Yordan scratched from lineup. Neck stiffness.

I declare shennanigans.

I’m leaning toward the “mattress mac” wackass cocaine infused voodoo

We’ll see him next in ‘26.

No kidding. Neck stiffness had JV out for 59 games. The goalposts are probably that on one side and he fell into a guillotine on the other.

Well, JV certainly got over that quickly.

Revolution discomfort

With Bregman back the batting lineup was too powerful. If we see Tucker again we’ll be done with Altuve for the season.

Yordan out again today.

I’m guessing he’s like Tucker, done for the season.

Yordan out of tonight’s lineup. At least Bregman is playing 3b.

I read something a day or two ago which said the injury could be serious.

Well that sucks.

Could be available off the bench.

That is VERY good news.

Mirroring @JimR ’s comment that that is very good news. Yet, I’m pretty sure that the Ghost of Tucker was going to be available off the bench a few days after his injury as well. I will believe in Alvarez sighting when I actually see him…

I don’t think Tucker was ever said to be available on the day in question, I remember a “he might be able to pinch hit tomorrow” type of thing but not “available tonight off the bench”

I could be misremembering though
