I have a work friend who was taking his kids and grandkids to the inauguration. He’s a Republican, but to be fair this would be his third inauguration, having attended Reagan’s second and Clinton’s first. He was a U.S. Army Honor Guard and actually worked Reagan’s second. He says it’s an impressive event, no matter which side of the aisle you’re on.

Tik Tok is back working again the US. Trump is claiming to have done this by executive order.
So much to unpack here:
- Trump isn’t president yet, so how is he issuing executive orders that have any effect?
- The ban was imposed by an act of congress and upheld by SCOTUS; if Trump can undo such things on a whim…
The federal government is completely in the bag for Trump. Unlike last time, his every mood swing or perceived affront is going be acted on in real time. No guard rails; no filter; no buffer.

Nothing says “Fuck You!” like inviting all your cultists to DC to honor you, then deciding to move the ceremony indoors for your own comfort - meaning they would have to watch it on Jumbotrons while freezing their asses off outside - and then removing the Jumbotrons.
MAGAfolk in DC will have to watch it on TV somewhere like they were at home. 
Ramaswamy is out at DOGE. Trump still not yet president and his cabinet has about a 50% turnover.
The Supreme Court decision was “we uphold the ban, it’ll be up to the Executive Branch to decide how/when to institute it.” The Supreme Court is not a law enforcement agency. That’s the President. Trump has said repeatedly that he’s simply not going to enforce it. Much like states say they’re not going to enforce federal drug laws when it comes to marijuana. Everyone has known this for months.
