Musk has also used his Tesla stock as collateral for SpaceX, Twitter, and Tesla loans. Before he bought Twitter, over half of his shares were collateralised; now, that figure is far, far higher. Again, let’s be generous and assume only 70% of his 12.8% stake in Tesla is collateralised in this way, with a third of these loans for Tesla. That would mean Musk has $71.68 billion in personal loans, with $23.89 billion for Tesla.
Now you can see why he had his babysitter do an ad for Tesla in front of the White House. Musk’s entire financial wellbeing is wrapped up in people thinking Tesla is just weeks away in a breakthrough in a thing that we don’'t know about yet.
The worst part about this is that, while this guy got caught trying to fuck a kid, there’s no way that this wasn’t the first time and it’s more than likely that he’s been “successful” in the past. Dude has some jailhouse justice coming, I hope.

The cruelty is the point.
To put things into perspective: I had a Canadian passport, lawyers, resources, media attention, friends, family and even politicians advocating for me. Yet, I was still detained for nearly two weeks.
Imagine what this system is like for every other person in there.
The thing about ICE detention is that there is no end date. Every criminal - barring those on death row or on multiple life sentences - has an end date to their incarceration. If detained by ICE, you have no such certainty. This lady was told to prepare mentally for months of detention.
I thought I read it here, but I was under the impression that much of Tesla’s earnings were not sales, but through carbon credits. I assume that as sales drop, those offsets will go to other manufacturers, sort of a double whammy on their earnings.

From the Administration: “The lack of criminal records does not indicate they pose a limited threat.” And "the lack of information the government has on the deported Venezuelans demonstrates that they are terrorists with regard to whom we lack a complete file.”
So this is sort of preemptive incarceration, based on “we don’t know if they’re criminals or not, but let’s assume that they would commit crimes if given enough time. Off to prison…”

In other news: Trump Admin and FBI released a trove of previously classified files related to the JFK assassination. Early reports are it’s a big nothing burger, with no new meaningful facts or information. That won’t stop the wingnuts, however.
That should provide a pretty significant distraction. I wonder what he’s going to do while everyone is looking over there?
