A Republic, If You Can Keep It

Coors and Coors light are 2 different things

It was Coors light on tap. The Silver Bullet.

I feel for you and @HudsonHawk having to drink that swill.

Word on the street is that guy is having a release in a couple of weeks.

Is that Putin’s blackmail photo?

That is not what he said.

It’s a big part of NATO’s defense against Russia. It provides early warning of them trying to sneak “over the top” to get to Canada or the US. If Trump got ahold of it, I can guarantee you he closes the military bases there.

So I’m a 17yo idiot on a high school trip to England for 20 days…

The first pub we sneak off to (maybe somewhere around Stratford on the Avon?), my buddy orders a Heineken.

I look at him sideways, the bartender smiles, the 4 guys at the bar say “why don’t you drink what we’re drinking.”

Friend said “sorry”, I said “yes”. Couldn’t tell you what the pints were.

Midland Mild Ale? They’re quite delicious.

Dunno, this was 1991

As long as it doesn’t ultimately trickle down to distilled water, I’ll be fine. But I’m sure it will. Fuck em all.

Mild is the beer of choice for Brummies.

Or so I’ve been told by the Brummies I’ve known…in the dumbest-sounding accent in the English speaking world.

I’m adding numpty to my flagellations of ridicule. I’ve already started a list.

It’s a good one. Totally PG but also totally damning.

Senate Dems cave on the CR, betraying colleagues and constituents alike in the process.

The Northeast of the United States of America has entered the chat. My freshman year at AU, I seriously questioned whether those kids were actually speaking English.

My only experience with Midland Mild is from a few bottles smuggled back to the States by a few former teammates. Quite good if my addled brain can be trusted.

America exports ~700M of bourbon to Europe annually.

We import about 12B of wine/beer/spirits, I can’t find the numbers to make a proper comparison.

Schumer getting hammered over his plan to vote for the dirtiest CR in congressional history.

The vote is today; there’s still a chance he will oppose it.

I love this for him.

Actual Democratic leadership is still trying to do the right thing:

The way Schumer described it, allowing a shutdown would allow Trump to dismantle more of the government than he would otherwise be able to do if they passed the CR. Is that not a viable concern?
