Joe Biden memes himself, aviator shades and everything, while he stomps on a stupid attempt at a gotcha question from NBC’s Peter Alexander.
You know it was a stupid question, because Kayleigh McEnemy thinks it’s a good one, while seeming oblivious to Biden pantsing Alexander with the answer.
Economists are starting to “worry” about inflation. The truth is, it’s been so low for so long that a rise to over 5% sounds catastrophic, when the realty is that it means there’s demand, which will spur growth, which will spur jobs, which will spur demand.
Moderate inflation is only bad if you’re an employer who doesn’t want to give employees a pay raise. It’s no coincidence that, while inflation has been barely noticeable, wages haven’t even kept up with it.
I was contemplating the state of Europe and the world without the 46th, and I am so grateful he’s in office.
Without Biden, NATO is either disbanded or totally weakened before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Although Ukraine would have staved off the initial invasion, once their Soviet arms were spent, they would be nearly helpless and Russia would have conquered most if not all of Ukraine. The Baltic states would have been cut off via a corridor cut between Belarus and Kaliningrad and reduced to capitulation by artillery. Poland would be begging for help from the rest of Europe as Germany looks the other way.
When Trump first talked of the invasion on Fox with Laura Ingram, he thought that U.S. troops were invading with the Russians. That tells you everything.
Instead, NATO is vastly strengthened by the addition of two superb militaries in the Armed Forces of Sweden and Finland. Ukraine has deftly transferred to NATO superior weaponry in an amazingly short time and those advantages are just now starting to show up on the battlefield. For comparison, a HIMARS team takes more than a year to fully train.
A Russian defeat in Ukraine will severely diminish Putin and Russia’s malevolent influence on the world. A boon to all freedom-loving people everywhere. I fervently hope for that total Ukrainian victory. In the meantime, Putin and Russia have been stopped in Ukraine and Putin’s dream of being Stalin 2.0 is stymied.
I think this is the first time I’ve ever replied to you about something non-baseballish and I generally stay out of political talk, for reasons that are obvious to some on this board. But, I will say this about the politics-adjacent comments you just made here, based on what I know from first-hand experience, not on what I’ve read anywhere: Your edit of the original comment from @Texifornia is nonsensical and your comment about decision-making at the WH is patently false. And, before you or anyone here assumes or pretends to know my political affiliations, you don’t. I’ve never once said what they are, hinted what they are or suggested what they are. And, when people try to guess from the little or alot they know about me, they are often wrong. What I just said to you is apolitical but factual.
I’ll now go back to not talking about things tangentially related about politics.
Biden is not capable of making a decision. You have to be blind or just plain don’t want to admit it. His press conferences are all disasters. He reads things such as “next paragraph”, “end of quote”, “repeat the line”, etc. There is a reason that the White House has to clarify most of his comments and a reason he doesn’t take questions from the press or he has a short list of people he will take pre-written questions from. He is just old and his mind does not work the way it once did. Joe might have made a good President 15 years ago but he’s just too old. He is clearly getting help from someone.
As for Jim’s comment, he’s flat wrong. Jim just doesn’t like it when people disagree with him. He usually attacks someone, tells them they are stupid for their belief and they back down from him. He’s just a grouch and that’s fine. I’ve never seen a coach that wasn’t one. He likes to say he has me blocked but he always reads my comments anyway.
As for Jim’s comment about Trump, I don’t think Trump is a wise choice for the Republican candidate next election. He is too divisive, has too much baggage, similar to Clinton, and he is also too old. If the candidates are Biden and Trump, I won’t be voting and will just hope for the best.
As brutal as the war has been, Ukraine would not exist without Biden, but nothing he’s done will be as important as moving us forward on global warming. I pray they’re able to pull it off.
