What Austin venue did the perform at?
Bass Concert Hall.
Wait until you meet most of Quebec.
Fuck Canada, I meant Southern France
I was observing Dutchnecks, but the general strain is fairly pervasive.
How do you âobserveâ a Dutchman?
Options are various, but if you value safety you observe a Dutchneck by hiding behind the mountain of green bottles that he has haphazardly constructed in his immediate vicinity.
Dutchillbillies are an extremely rare sight because the lack of elevation.
I remember hearing an interview with Robert Plant talking about what complete redneck John Bohnam was. Plant said he was considered one too by the Londonites, but nothing compared to Bohnam. He was referring to Jeff Foxworthyâs âyou might be a redneckâ and said he laughed so hard because that bit summed up Bonzo to a tee.
A few years ago I was pissing at a urinal on a Sunday afternoon at a place in Austin with an outdoor patio. I turned my head slightly to see a face of who was pissing next to me and it was Robert Plant. He said he was in town working on a record. It turned out it was a project with Allison Krauss. For a big-shot he was very friendly.
Girl I dated a few years ago lived in Travis Heights, a couple of blocks behind Home Slice (same timeframe youâre talking about, he was dating/living with Patty Griffin). Weâd borrow her neighborâs dog and take it on walks around the neighborhood, she says in passing âRobert Plant lives somewhere around hereââŚabout 3 walks later we meet him on the street, he pets dog, shakes hand, and Iâm so bumfuddled I can barely make conversation. Incredibly nice guy. Ran into him at the Continental Club months later and he remembered us, names and everything.
I wouldâve asked his dick some questions. I bet itâs got some storiesâŚ
Yeah, thereâs that Zappa song, Bwana Dik, I think it is. With the refrain âHis dick is a monster.â
One of my daughterâs boyfriends is from a town called Cornwall in Southern Quebec. The stories he tells are hilarious. He says the plot and personas in the CBC show âTrailer Park Boysâ would be a significant step up from Cornwall.
As a fan of TPB, that might possibly be hyperbole.
Iâd like to see the TPB meet up with the Letterkenny crew.
I keep trying to find time to include Letterkenny. It has been highly recommended by a diverse group of fans of the show (including several here). Something else I want to see, seems to always come up first.
Iâm only a few episodes in but Letterkenny is great.
Thatâs amazing. I wonder if I have Krause/Griffin mixed up in my recollection.
He did an album with Krause (âRaising Sandâ) while he was in Austin, so you are not wrong.
