There has always been this unwritten, if not sub-conscious, distinction in most peoples’ minds.
I will add…they should do away with this rule about making a player who dies immediately eligible. I’m sorry, Roy Halladay is not a HoFer.

D. Wayne Lukas, arguably the greatest horse trainer ever.
Never knew much of that private life stuff.
I’m surprised actually, even given his age. Was still kicking strong last Derby. Not a lovable guy, but certainly a force who achieved a ton.
Jimmy Swaggart.
Sex workers will be flying their flags at half mast today.
Diogo Jota, Liverpool forward, and his brother
Diogo Jota
Michael Madsen, 67.
I always liked him, but not as much as I like his sister.
Never had a clue they were related.
News to me as well.
Me too.
Plus I thought he was already dead.
That’s Snake Plissken.
I had the same thought then realized I was thinking of Tom Sizemore. Not trying to be trite, I just always associated them in my head. RIP.
Kenneth Colley, 87. Probably best known as Admiral Piett in Star Wars, but a fine actor in all sorts of roles. He did a great guest spot in one of the better episodes of Inspector Morse.
I can’t remember Inspector Morse ever being mentioned around here. OUTSTANDING.
That’s exactly who I was thinking of.
Inspector Morse is good but Endeavour is better.
I’m pretty sure I agree with this.
I think I prefer Morse but I liked Endeavour a lot. I wished the lead actor had hewed closer to John Thaw’s take on the character, but he made the creative choice not to, and gave a strong performance in his own right. And you can’t go wrong with Anton Lesser or Roger Allam.
I never watched Lewis. No idea if it’s any good.
