I heartily endorse this read.
Don Gullett. Of whom Willie Stargell said āhe could throw a baseball through a car wash without getting it wetā.
I remember Gullett as a pretty damn good pitcher whose career ended early and abruptly.
He looked like a lock for the Hall of Fame. He had a 100 plus wins and several World Series appearances by the time he was about 25 or 26. Then a torn rotator cuff and he was through. No telling what he could have done if he had reached his prime.
Lefty Driesell
Former Houston Rocket Robert Reid.
Damn that sucks. He was a really nice guy
I was just telling someone about this, that I met him any number of times when I was a kid and never was there a time he could have been nicer.
