2023 Roster

Yep, I saw the DBacks account and “La Pina” and did not pay as much attention to the photo as I should have.

Saw Brantley working on glove work with Abreu. Wonder if the plan is for Brantley to get a little time at 1B?

Apparently they reeeeeeally liked the guy…

I really like Brown and am so glad the Astros hired him.

He generates enthusiasm in me, and I expect him to make this dynasty even better. He was a terrific hire.

Nothing concealed about these weapons.

The New York and LA fans are already crying, saying Pena is on steroids. They clearly didn’t watch Pena last year as he looked basically the same.

I mean sure, there’s steroid testing, but MLB always looks the other way when it comes to the Astros.

The Yankees and A’s are the prime examples of the double standard

Ha. Every scouting report in Peña since the beginning of time has called him “very athletic”.

Pena’s biceps are the size of my thighs. I had no idea this guy was this ripped.

Looks basically the same here. The guy seems like a really hard worker. Glad he’s on our side.

This was a common comment this past Postseason when he sort of hit the spotlight. It was “holy shit, that kid is jacked. I had no idea…”

Pena reminds of me of Brantley as coming off as being very serious and dedicated during interviews. I hope he can keep up his trajectory!

I see this as well.

Very fun loving and enthusuastic on the field but businesslike off of it.

Pena had a magical season last year and I hope he has an even better year in 2023.

But I fully expect some sophmore issues and the league catching up and him readjusting. An up and down season would not surprise me, nor concern me.

Even if he has a great season and improves over 2022 he should be the 5th-7th best position player on the team which is a great situation for the Astros and their fans

I guess that was an agreed-upon plan, but it seems odd to me. That seems like a lot of weight for his frame.

He’s listed at the same height as Jeremy Pena, who’s listed at 202. So I guess it’s just a matter a enlarging that frame.

He was rail-thin last year, and 190 is not too much weight, especially when one considers the grind of the season.

190 doesn’t seem particularly large to me either, especially for a professional athlete. Of course, it’s me thinking about 190 lbs…
