There are starting to be some reports that the Astros may be closing in on an extension with Valdez. Could happen by opening day and speculation is that he is seeking a deal in at least the $150M range.

MLB reporter on twitter who first posted the Framber extension talks rumor referenced above. He’s had some scoops on other free agents/trades around the league, but his Astros reporting has been crap.

His brother got traded there a month or two ago but I don’t see any legitimate reports about Yuli signing there.
