Pretty good singer, pretty good songwriter. He was like, second to Keith Richards in the how are they still alive category. Hell, Keith is still on his first liver.
I try to avoid the land north of the state of Texas as often as possible.
Or any land north of Texas - at least in this hemisphere.
Canada?
Yes. Avoid.
I make some exceptions for Europe & Britain. But mostly prefer to stay between Sydney & about Waco by latitude.
At my old airline, we went to Canada a lot. It was a great place to visit, just not in the winter.
So ⦠Stick with late July then?
Parts of Canada are spectacular. Other parts are a miserable frozen wasteland. Stick with the former.
David Crosby was the best singer in the Byrds by a long shot, and thatās a band that had more than its fair share of good to very good singers.
Achieving greatness in collectives while alienating everyone you ever worked with was quite a feat.
Hi, Roger Clemens!
The chorus āI have been around the worldā cannot be sung too loudly. Damn this hurts. (Somewhat relatedly, Iāll nominate Stephen Stills in any āunderratedā poll ā¦)
I donāt know why Stills hasnāt received more recognition as a great guitarist. Maybe because the vocals/harmonies in CSN were so arresting people overlook the rest of sound.
This CSN logo was designed by another all-time great who left us way too soon: Phil Hartman.
Stephen Stills is pretty highly regarded as a guitar player.
Those guys were so fucking talented.
I had no idea he did such things. Just the thought of him makes me smile.
Cut to 2:58 to skip the foreplay ⦠and at 4:45 Stills leaves the planet ā¦
apology the self-indulgence- these guys were a very big part of my life
Iāll participate in the self-indulgence. The Byrds are a cornerstone of everything I know and understand and perceive in terms of popular music.
There are a number of versions of this song, but I like this one the best.
Love the Byrds. They just donāt make music like that anymore.
