Whitley will make his MLB debut?
No need to rush him. Pencil him in with Ty’s buddy’s kid in 2040.
Shouldn’t be a problem. Pitch limits will probably be down around 35-40 by then.
Speaking of Whitley, is he pitching on a team or is he still too fragile?
Working out in WPB. Due for a rehab assignment shortly.
I still have hope for him.
There are many reasons that him becoming a MLB contributer would be a good thing.
I agree it would be a good thing, but I’m not sure I have much hope. He just seems still so far away.
Yeah. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think he’ll ever contribute much.
Totally different subject but…
I have been a very active fan since 1979. For one reason or another I have never seen a live game, except spring training.
I just bought my tickets to see the Astros play in Seattle Sat July 23.
Enjoy! Seattle’s a nice ballpark.

Man, this is like Rudy’s dad finally making it to a Notre Dame game.
I grew up a yankees fan. Came to houston 1980. Went to the dome for stros and oilers. I think it was ryan pitching who was a favorite of my dads. He grew up a giants fan, until they moved to cali. My mom and dad met ryan in a restaurant he liked in pearland. I suffered threw numerous years with the yanks not making it. Remember nettles catch, perpendicular to the ground. It was easy to break away from the yankees though. It became kind of like steinbrenner was buying pennants. Said to say, would rather support a team losing than just having enough money to buy the game. But we have had good and bad years in houston. Helps to follow miners in rough times, hope for the future.
Are the hot dogs at MMPUS called star dogs? I seem to remember that they were, and then they weren’t, but are they again?
Nelson Cruz hit .318 with a .838 OPS in May.
He would be cheap and add a big RH bat to put between Alvarez and Tucker.
Platoon him with Brantley and play Yordan in LF vs LHP.
Vs LHP
Altuve
Bregman
Alvarez
Cruz
Tucker
Gurriel
Pena
Meyers/McCormick/Siri
Maldy
No change vs RHP
They are not going to platoon Brantley in any real way
Cruz can’t play the field and is out-OPSing Brantley against lefties this season by a mere .004.
There is no way you platoon Brantley, especially with a guy like Cruz.
Really
Nobody agrees with me that it’s a good idea?
Cruz’s poor numbers are due to a terrible start but he was very good in May and has a proven track record.
He doesn’t need to play the field as long as Alvarez can.
Someone may agree with you, but it’s not me. I want Brantley as an every day player, and if I did want to platoon him, it wouldn’t be with a guy like Cruz.
He’s played 9 games in the OF in the past 5+ seasons and isn’t hitting LHP either.
