I assume this is Cabrera material, but I don’t recall seeing that Dusty said he will start the season with a rotation of Framber, Odorozzi, then Verlander. Probably Urquidy and Garcia for the fourth and fifth games.
With these moves the 28 man OD roster seems to be set. Blanco will need a spot on the 40 man roster.
Martinez pitched pretty well.
I agree on Martinez
He will be needed and have some chances.
I really like the potential and depth of the young guys who will help the parent team with some innings this year.
You can never have too many arms.
I wonder if Bielak has served his purpose and pitched his last game for the Astros.
To me he always felt like a AAAA innings eater who would always be there in an emergency and be dependable if slightly below average.
There is definitely a place for those guys and they can save a team days or even weeks of other problems.
However, with the development of Solomon, Seth Martinez, Ivey, Bermudez, and others it feels like the end.
Unless several pitchers end up on the 60 day IL there will be players who will be traded or waived to get some of the young arms like Blanco and Hunter Brown on to the 40.
Thanks for the memories Brandon.
During the playoffs, being the Killer Bs would be very bad.
Subdued and introverted aren’t the first words that come to mind for Bregman.
They do describe his bland salsa, though
I was referring to how bad they were when the playoffs started.

Not sure, but if he has, I won’t be disappointed. Wish him no ill will mind you, but I’ve just never had any confidence in him when he comes in a game….and he’s had plenty of chances to establish himself.
Apparently Montero was not good today, but an error at SS did not help. This was his first time out, and I hope he gets some slack because he has an arm you want to be patient with.
I agree on Montero.
Before he got hurt he was pitching really well last year.
I think about Maton who was very up and down when first joining the organization. Now he’s one of the golden arms to the fans.
Let’s see if with the same time and opportunity Montero can do the same.
Agree with this, Diaz gets injured with some frequency
Yesterday was a waste
But at least it was nice to see Mushinski pitch his MLB debut and get a perfect inning.
He is not on the 40 man so they will need to send him down when Alvarez is activated or make a move…
Hopefully they just cut bait with Baez.

Huh? He’s on both the 40-man and the active roster. You can’t play in a game without being on both. They will have to make several moves in the coming weeks, as Alvarez is activated and the active roster goes back to 26.
Sorry my bad.
I phrased that completely wrong.
What I meant is that because Alvarez is ( was hopefully today) on the COVID part of IL that they get an exception for the 40 man.
Notice there are 41 people listed eventhough nobody is on the 60 day IL?
Mushinski is the only player who can he moved off the 40 man without a corresponding move when Alvarez is activated.
It was the same with Dawson and De Goti last year.
What you mean is that he can be taken back off without the usual exposure to waivers or being outrighted because he replaced Alvarez who went in the COVID protocol. I know what you’re saying, but anyone can be moved off the 40-man, such as just cutting bait with Baez. They could also move McCullers or Meyers to the 60-day to free up another spot, should they want to keep him. But they have to get rid of two pitchers on the active roster come May 1st no matter what.
Thanks.
I think I will just hang my head and slink away on this one.
Lol must be Monday.
