TMZ reporting officials suspect Giambi died by suicide.
This actually dovetails into the great circle discussion in the travel thread. Nowhere is where you think it is.
Itâs in Oklahoma.
I donât know. Doesnât that seem⊠redundant?
I saw a comment about this which is completely on the money: Bob Saget would want his cause of death to be recorded as autoerotic asphyxiation.
I read a follow up report quoting a doctor. He said Saget had multiple skull fractures not unlike being hit with a bat. If that report was a legitimate report, I wonder what the heck happened.
ETA:
Other health experts concur, with the chair in neurosurgery at Houston Methodist Hospital telling the New York Times, âThis is something I find with someone with a baseball bat to the head, or who has fallen from 20 or 30 feet.â He also pointed out that even thick parts of the skull were fractured and added that the injuries would be accompanied by âsignificant pain.â
PJ OâRourke, RIP
âThe Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesnât work and then they get elected and prove it.â
I always enjoyed his work with National Lampoon and Rolling Stone back in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and more recently on NPRs, âWait, Wait, Donât Tell Meâ.

Gary Brooker of Procol Harum died on February 19.
âA Whiter Shade of Paleâ is one of my all-time favorite songs. RIP, Gary.
MLB
Ken Burrough, olâ âDouble Noughtâ of the Houston Oilers, died on February 24.
Sister. Bobbie Nelson. 91.
She was quite the piano player.
Really enjoy the footage of Willie et al playing in the 70s at the full height of their musical prowess.
I saw Wille several times in the 70s and 80s when he actually sang instead of talking lyrics. She was great on the piano.
Not sure if it goes here or on the Misc thread, but former MLB pitcher Odalis Perez, 44âŠapparently fell from a ladder.
Sally Schmitt. With husband Don founder of the French Laundry.
I"ve never eaten at French Laundry but have had dinner at Bouchon Bistro which is also a Thomas Keller restaurant. Best dining experience Iâve had. Part of it was the setting but the meal was worth every penny.
The consommé is a little soapy.
