2022 ALDS Game 1

Here it is for your viewing and downloading pleasure: TV broadcast with Robert Ford audio, plus seven other angles. The shot from right field is crazy - if that ball were coming toward me I’d get the fuck out of the way.

Individual clips (some may already be posted):

Man, that shot from RF is pretty impressive for a cell video. Even managed to track the ball most of the way.

Altuve with the veteran instincts. He didn’t get caught in the middle of that scrum

The woke police rightly enforce that we can no longer refer to this type of celebration as resembling a savory English meatball dish…but from Kansas City.

I gave due consideration to the resurrection of the phrase to which you refer albeit in modified form but eventually the judicious component of my nature was discovered to be more assertive than the reckless.

Very cool, indeed.

That’s awesome. Thanks Waldo!

During my off day boredom in Houston, I have been thinking of the crazy, loud moments Mark and I have experienced at Astros playoff games. I think the loudest was after Beltran’s homer off Tavarez (sp?) in 2004, but up there also are Altuve’s mad dash in Game Two (?) and the Yuli, Altuve and Springer homers and the 10th inning in Game Five in 2017. Last night is up there too. I hope Mark will weigh in because he was at all those games and maybe has others.

One of the loudest moments I remember was in 2005, Game 5 of the NLCS.

Thinking about it now, it’s crazy how many amazing moments there have been in that building.

I’ve been to Kent’s bluebonnet NLCS G5 blast, Burke’s 18 inning game ender, Altuve’s mad dash in ALCS G2, and now Alvarez’s walkoff. All indelible moments.

Yep, I was not at the Kent homer game or at the Burke homer game.

The Chronicle had an article this morning with video of every Astros postseason walkoff:

The only other I’d add is Bregman’s single that won Game 5. We were sitting way up near the rafters behind 1st base and you could feel the beams and ground shaking it was so loud.

I had tickets to Game 6 of the 2019 ALCS but had to give them away due to a prior commitment. I wish I were at the 2017 WS G5 but it was stressful enough watching it home with steady access to booze I couldn’t imagine actually being there.

The Burger Joint on Shepherd has a sign that says “free shakes for home runs”

What should the conversion rate on Yordan’s blast be?

I’ll be in my bunk.

Definitely. That is what I meant by 10th inning of Game Five.

As I have posted before, I thought I was having a cardiac event during Altuve’s AB in the 5th inning. I asked God to please wait to take me until the game was over.
