Snuffy miss a point? Who knew.
He’s never seen one
I need a drink.
How would you feel if they option Abreu and Bielak to avoid DFA’ing both Raley and Montero?
Read it again without any preconceptions. Pay particular attention to the last seven words.
I would scream louder over Abreu.
Bielak goes down
Raley DFA.
Yes, Abreu has definite talent, if anybody can harness his mechanics.
I think he is less inconsistent than Javier.
Abreu, Javier and Paredes have serious talent going forward, no way you give up on arms like that unless it’s for a better arm at the deadline.
Totally agree on not giving up on great arms. My Octavio Dotel argument all over again after he was a bust as a starter.
Raley has no business staying on this team. He’s not pitching well enough and is a major liability against right-handed hitters. Any opponent that allows him to face three left-handed hitters in a row makes Dusty Baker look like a competent in-game tactician.
All 3 of those guys remind me of Dotel
That’s fair and it would be surprising if Abreu is optioned in light of Click’s statement about wanting power arms and strike throwers in the bullpen.
Click just needs to save Baker from himself and put Raley out of reach
I think Abreu is in love with his slider, and I wish he would throw his FB more.
In the pre-game interview Click spoke about how they think Montero has some untapped potential and is better than his stats. They could still cut him loose, but I’m thinking it is Raley who gets DFA’d.
No fucking way do they DFA Montero. No way.
Montero vs Raley is interesting because both pitchers have very similar statcast profiles .Given the familiarity with Raley and his left-handedness, I think the organization is inclined to stick with him over Montero because both are out of options and Raley gives Baker another LH option out of the bullpen despite the fact that Raley’s numbers vs right-handed hitters says he sucks. Montero hasn’t exactly impressed for Seattle and was DFA’d earlier so I think he was a throw-in minor leaguer type.
You are a Raley apologist, which is incredible to me, but may be right if Click believes Raley’s being LH makes some sort of major difference. I think the left handed specialist role no longer exists because of the three batter rule, and Raley has demonstrated his incompetence against RH hitters. I also think getting rid of Montero before seeing if he can be fixed to realize his potential is dumb, and I don’t think Click is dumb. We’ll see.
Just reading injury/roster stuff on At Bat. The blurb on Urquidy says he is “weeks away” from a rehab assignment and will not be back until September. I am less than fully confident in the SP rotation. I have no clue what Click wanted/tried to do, but I wish he had been able to get a starter. The Gibson/Kennedy combo the Rangers sent to the Phillies would have been nice, and I am more than pissed Scherzer manipulated his way to join LAD.
