So … the penalty (to the team) for being exposed is more severe than the penalty for contracting the disease? If they actually test positive, they can postpone until healthy, but if they are just hiding from their covid shadow they have to use replacement players?
First, I don’t know all the details and how true all of that is. Just something I read. Secondly, I don’t think this means they’d postpone all games indefinitely, only give the team a day or so to regroup. It doesn’t mean they won’t have to play any games without those players. Finally, I don’t think the COVID protocol is meant to be punitive. It’s a safety measure, not a punishment.
With a starter needed for Thursday’s game and Cristian Javier stretched out, he gets called up after today’s game while Peter Solomon gets sent back to the ATS.
I haven’t seen but do they have to make a 40-man roster move or do ped suspended players still count toward the 40-man? I thought they were taken off but I could easily be wrong
Emanuel was on the 40 man roster when he got busted. He was transferred to the restricted list at that point and no longer counted towards the 40 man roster limit. Once he came off that list, he again counts towards the 40 man roster limit. So a corresponding move would be necessary if the 40 man is full.
