Yankees @ Astros July 11, 2021

Garza Jr went 1.2, walked 3, struck out 3, and picked up the W.

Astros issued 14 walks, gave up 8 hits.

Astros tallied 10 hits, including 5 straight to start the 9th.

And 1 more to end it.

Is that an ā€œAltuve’s shortā€ joke?

Altuve’s short? He’s gotta be taller than 6’7".

The Evil Empire/yanks and their ā€œclassy,ā€ front-runner, bandwagon, arrogant, self-righteous, obnoxious fanbase may all collectively eat a steaming pile of fresh dog shit.

Way to go, Jose!!

It’s been this way pretty much all year - Toro, McCormack, Castro. Plus a good inning each from Scrubb and Smith. Subs playing a huge part in the team’s success.

The Smith inning is worth a watch.

He was sharp.

HPU was not:

For a while, you could ask Alexa:

ā€œAlexa, who owns the New York Yankees?ā€

And she would reply:

ā€œthe New York Yankees are owned by Jose Altuveā€.

I have a recording of it somewhere.

Watching the Yankee broadcast of the top of the 9th as I do honey-doos:

Two questions come up with you have so many walks, watching Garza walk #13 and #14 during the 9th inning:

  1. Ck the strike Zone - rookie ump, 3rd game called this year, inconsistent strike zone, favoring us - especially borderline calls, some in the zone… The calls did not favor the (Astros) pitcher… we keep track of this. The ump grade will reflect this…
  2. w/ 14 BB, the Yankees should have scored a lot more runs today.

You can program her to say that, I think. When I ask her what time it is, she tells me and adds ā€œā€¦and OU sucks.ā€

Well, I said she could be programmed to say this, but I could not figure out how this morning.

Cabrera probably posted this somewhere, but …

How unsurprising that Buster mentions the two of the three teams involved in that stat. He’s a wanker.

I wonder why Aaron Boone didn’t use Mariano Rivera last night?

Probably because he has a Yankee closer BETTER that Mariano out in the bullpen. He just sent Chapma… oh? He did? Huh, that’s weird.
