Ugly and beautiful at the same time.
Well, that was fucking something!
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Had he been playing somewhere in the same zip code as a normal second baseman, they probably get Yordan in a force.
Oh well, too bad.
Allās well that ends well, but I coulda used a quieter 9th inning.
Game 2 should start in a couple of hours
I hate that there was drama but 1. We made them use an extra pitcher, and 2. Crushing their hope.
I wonder if the fans have to leave.
Yes.
They def sold tickets to two separate games, so I would think so.
Thatās the best part.
No problem, itās a gorgeous day to spend an hour or two just milling about outside.
A clean 9th from Neris would have done the same thing
I gotta get another hour or so of work in now.
The good news. They are allowed back in if they have purchased tickets for the second game.
Always nice seeing a fellow University of Arizona Wildcat/alumnus stepping up.
Well done and way to BEAR DOWN, J.J.
Slurp shit, yanks.
PeƱa should have dived to knock the ball down, but I strongly believe Bregman should have made the third out on that play.
Love we beat them with the same kind of hit. Stupid shift beat them too.
Going to bed in Bruges. Bring the second one home too.
On a side noteā¦Iāve liked what Iāve seen from Lee so far.
Their 2B was shifted in shallow right. Never even appeared in the picture at 2nd when the throw came that way.
I had to watch the replay 3 times to figure out where the 2B was.

When he threw to second I initially was like āoh shit, beat the throw!ā and then it was to nobody.
On replay, I was really curious about what had happened, so I was watching. He never even broke toward the bag, not that he wouldāve been able to get there in time anyway.
Interesting breakdown from Mark DeRosa. In particular, the last two minutes where he talks about the last play of the game and the Yankeesā defensive alignment. Makes the point that walking Alvarez sets up the ol āforce at any baseā, but then then they align defensively to take away any force opportunity at 2B, 3B or HP. You get a ground ball on the infield and nowhere to throw it for an out.
Fascinating point.
