Those series were close, and the Yankees felt like it was at their fingertips. But what in the history of 2022 made the Yankees think they could win this series? They were outgunned, they knew it, and that was that. The Astros may not win the World Series, but they were the best team in the American League this year, and it’s not really very close.

They are accustomed to this and acknowledge, at least to themselves, the Astros are a better team. Hard to have your ass kicked and your heart broken at the same time.
No one likes getting their ass kicked, but sometimes the other team is just better than you are. The Yankee players realize this. The tears are from the emotional fans.
An astonishing thing to me was hearing Yankee fans boo their own players. The NYC media has really turned on NYY, but that is to be expected.
I guess that’s part of playing in NY and comes with the territory. I’m not sure I’d want to play in that environment, but I’m a soft, sensitive guy.
While I know money speaks loudly, this idea has me thinking Judge won’t want to re-up.
Judge is from SoCal, correct? Maybe he can grab some of that Angels glory train.
The image of HH doing postgame pressers in NY will keep me chuckling for some time.

Judge is more NorCal than SoCal - born in Sacramento. I’m sure multiple CA teams are interested in his services, but Bay Area buzz is that his NorCal ties will help the Giants land him.
Pedro said this almost directly, which made Costas cry.
I would not want to be booed by my own fans, especially if I had done as much as Judge has for that franchise.
