Like the 2nd half of a Longhorn game.

I’m obviously disappointed by the effort from the Astros tonight, but I’m grateful for getting to hang out here and spend another season talking Astros’ baseball with a lot of friends and knowledgable fans.

I’ll be ready to be at Opening Day 2022 when the time comes.

What he said.

On the bright side, I’m pretty happy about not losing to the Dodgers or the Red Sox or the Yankees…

But to the Braves?? The hated braves??! Such bad memories.

Thanks OWA for another year of camaraderie and for another year of baseball lessons. Looking forward to hearing the arguments on Correa’s contract and hanging out at Beer and Queso. But now is time to go drown my sorrows.

Not discounting that. But some turds stink more than others.

I’m stunned that maybe the biggest question this offseason will be ā€˜how do they fix this offense,’ and that would still be true if Correa re-signed tomorrow.

This crazy hot/cold pattern has persisted all season… and that makes it hard to get through a successful postseason run, a string of probably 15+ games, without something bad happening.

Even though they have a good mix of RH and LH hitters and a bunch of visibly different styles, they all seem to respond positively or negatively to the same stimuli (pitchers, pitch types/sequences, playing conditions). Most of them are doing very well or very poorly at the same time.

I wouldn’t be upset if they sacked Cintron and Snitker, that’s for sure.

Love him or hate him: Dusty deserved better.

Let’s fire the son of the winning manager tonight. This was a hitting collapse and a periodic expected pitching managerial adventure

I hate losing the World Series. But I love this team, this city, this forum, and you guys and girls. Can’t wait 'til next time.

I’m not one for excuses but MLB and the entire world was against the Astros this entire season.

Constant booing and worse at every road game.

Terribly bad umpiring. I’m not saying they were doing it intentionally but human nature being what it is - look at umpire scorecards almost always called in favor of other teams game after game.

Bias and hate from every media outlet all over the TV, radio, and internet.

Despite this they had a kick ass year.

Next year, hopefully it’s all out of their system and the team gets the fair treatment they deserve.

Go Astros in 2022.

No clue why umpires would hold a grudge. What was so hard about walking up to Hinch and saying ā€œIf I hear another bang you’re getting run. And don’t even pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about or I’ll toss you right nowā€¦ā€

No shot at fair treatment by the media/fans. It’ll only get worse because ā€œthey only won when they cheatedā€ (ignoring that you’d never be able to hear a bang in a fully packed MMP).

The media largely shrugged off Votto’s comments on Dan Patrick’s show and Bassett’s comments on Chris Rose’s podcast. Don’t expect that to change, even if a player comes out 10 years from now and says ā€œoh, we did the same thing the Astros did, sans trash cans.ā€

I don’t think the umpires hold a grudge.

I want to look at the compiled umpire scorecards

It sure seems to be that it was advantage whatever team the Astros were playing much more often than not.

My only guess: people like to be liked. If an ump thinks a call is 50/50 and literally has to choose its for the team people don’t hate.

That damn letter needs to get unsealed.

MLB is going to keep doing everything they can to hide any and all cheating from any other team.

If it’s one team they can dictate and punish them and it goes away. Except the hatred the team gets which is fine by them.

If multiple teams are proven then it’s the steroid era all over again.

This is definitely not true. The Astros generally were slightly favored statistically per ump scorecards.

I ended the season ruining a Braves fan picture when leaving after the last out.

I sat through the whole game, never left my seat.

Yelled/cheered every time that fucking chant started.

And now I’m lost. I don’t like ending the season on a loss. Ending on a win will take is weeks into the void. Gives us something to cheer for next season.

I’m proud off this team. I didn’t think they’d make it to the series but they did. I know they tried and wanted to win but it just wasn’t their year.

But I’m still feeling lost. And i have jury duty tomorrow.
