Momentum is tomorrow’s starting pitcher and all that, but the Astros have several players in the kind of deep, extended slumps that don’t normally get fixed in a few games. And there are just a few games left…
Tomorrow is must win. Win tomorrow, and you’re sitting fine. Lose tomorrow, and you’re toast. Urquidy has to pitch the game of his life, and you have to hope that Bregman doesn’t come up in big spots.
Drop Bregman down to 7th, move Gurriel or Tucker up to 3rd. Who cares what Bregman thinks about it. If he doesn’t hit in game 2, start Diaz. Correa hasn’t done much since his home run celebration. Altuve, Bregman and Correa had better pull their head out of their asses or this is going to be a short series.
That’s the only sensible move. You simply cannot afford to continue to have Bregman wreck the middle of the order. Yordan leading off innings has to stop.
You’re not gonna put Tucker third and have three lefties in a row. It’s gotta be Gurriel. Not that it’s going to happen. They’re gonna live and die with Bregman.
