Saving that for Greinke’s start. Going with more Modelos.
Of course it doesn’t, it’s all for my own personal mental benefit.
The view from our upper deck seats provided a good look at the high fly balls that hovered long enough for the Braves outfielders to settle under them. The lights from the roof made the light drizzle glow. We were cold, but not wet.
I missed our 1st hit. Later, wondered if I should have stayed in the john, but did see Siri do his magic (8th) and Bregman demo his defensive bunting skills.
It was a good trip for us, except of the silent Astros bats. 1st WS and 1st time @ the new stadium, which I was told this stadium is in a better neighborhood. No problems walking to/from the parking lot. The fans were good, had much more reason to be loud than I did. They left happy and were cordial to my Astros shirt - no problems at all.
Touching sight seeing Dusty leave the Astros dugout to hug the Aaron family.
@Billy - Beautiful night for baseball. Hope for same for you and your family, but w/ a much better view of the Astros offense.
Zach hitting 8th.
Why?
Dusty
Only gonna bat once, if that much. Gonna be pinch hitting every time the pitchers spot comes up.
Unless Ohtani ever makes a World Series, he’ll probably be the last
Surely you know. There is a baseball reason.
Because Dusty thinks Grienke is a better batter and gives the team a better chance of winning, I’d guess.
On a lighter note:
The purpose of the of batting the pitcher 8th is it means you may be able to get him out of the game an inning earlier and keep a long man through the middle innings. This move indicates that Dusty is pretty confident Greinke can’t go more than three or four innings, at most.
Well that’s suboptimal
Dammit. That’s not a fair trade off.
Catcher for a catcher. Was there something else to do?
At this point, is there enough time left for Castro to come back if, say, this goes to a Gm 7?
Are you saying they are equal value?
No. Castro is out for the rest of the Series.
