We were up in 430 for one of the games against Tampa in '19. It was indeed a long way up.
I am am starting Siri tonight against the LHP, btw. Chas looks overmatched or perhaps undone by the enormity of a WS game. Siri will not do any worse, and he might do better.
When the Astros first made the World Series in 2005, my cousin and I got tickets for game 4 right below the retired numbers, which turned out to be too high up for my taste. We ended up standing on a lower-level concourse and watching the game with many other fans doing the same thing.
And those stairs are pretty steep. There were a couple of times I was certain that a tipsy fan was going to go snowballing down.
The seats are high up, but the view is excellent. The problem was the incessant in and out movement of people who apparently were there for $20 beers.
Love Street was my beer last night. It has been taken off the menu.
I’m thinking something South of the border tonight, for Urquidy.
I miss that place and Teotehuacan so much. Stupidity and the pandemic closed the 2 best TexMex places around me in the past few years, it’s amazing how many mediocre places there are in CenTex once you start shopping around for a new favorite.
Love Street was an epic failure in 2019. My friend and I even went to the Karbach Brewery before Game Seven, but alas, to no avail.
First Watch is a solid breakfast choice
Yep, Mark introduced me to it several years ago when we were here for a game.
My wife’s favorite breakfast spot. Couple of really solid options on the menu there.
Chorizo omelet for me, and we split Million Dollar Bacon, of course.
Manfred is an enormous hypocrite; hypocrisy being his best attribute. How is it that Atlanta is unworthy of the All Star game but worthy of the World Series? Did Georgia’s laws change since the summer? How is it that Texas is worthy of the World Series? Are its voting laws better than Georgia?
Never mind that when he moved the All Star Game he screwed hundreds if not thousands of black Atlantans who were counting on All Star Game revenue to improve their lives. At the same time he provided a huge windfall to all those white Denverites.
Any chance that the crusading sports writers will ask him about his stupidity/hypocrisy?
I thought yall were talking about a Houston place but I just learned I’m only a short 28 mile drive from the one in Cedar Park, and the one in Northcross is about 5 minutes from my brother…I know where we’re having breakfast the next time I’m visiting.
Menu looks awesome, btw.
Sugar Bowl, NYE, UT vs VaTech. Upper deck in the Superdome. You ain’t seen steep, son, especially leaving the game.
Manfred missed his chance to be a media hero. He should have declared Atlanta and Houston ineligible for the World Series and awarded the league titles to Boston and Los Angeles.
On the list of transgressions committed against the Astros by MLB this ranks fairly low.
But fuck those bastards for not letting the Astros play in their home stadium the way they want to.

Siri in center. No other changes, unfortunately.
Aqualung starting Game 3 for Atlanta.
He’s got locomotive breath.
My favorite Tull song.
True story: In Lubbock around Christmas in 1978ish, Jethro Tull came to play the Muni. Coliseum. Almost all of Texas Tech was gone for the holiday and the place was less than half full. Ian Anderson encouraged anybody seated far from the stage to come up front to the empty expensive seats and the band proceeded to play their ass off for hours. They played every song they had and came back and played them all again. Jethro Tull could have so easily mailed in a half-hour set and gotten the hell out of town and nobody, including the people at the show would have blamed them.
I’ve always had great respect for everyone in that band because of it.
