Another strong outing from LMJ is what I ordered.
T1:
Kepler…0-2…singles to LF
T1:
Rooker chops out 5-3, Kepler to 2B
T1:
Polanco…0-2…strikes out looking
T1:
Garver grounds out 6-3
No score
B1:
McCormick singles to RF on the first pitch
B1:
Passed ball…McCormick to 2B
Chas is taking advantage of his opportunity.
B1:
Brantley walks
B1:
Diaz pops behind 1B, Sano can’t get there, McCormick to 3B, Brantley has to hustle to 2B, as the throw goes into LF. McCormick scores on the TE2, but Brantley gets elbowed in the face. He’s down…but is ok.
B1:
Alvarez grounds into 4-6-3 double play, Brantley to 3B
Need a HH ruling:
How is Brantley not awarded 3B there?
B1:
Correa takes three strikes.
1-0 Astros
I do not think it would hurt Alvarez to try to beat out a DP on balls hit into the hole and fielded in the shift. He jogs.
Simmons was in the act of fielding the ball on a play on Brantley. The contact was a result. The question then becomes was Brantley attempting to advance to 3B? If not, no obstruction. I guess it was ruled Brantley did not attempt advance.
I do not have a ruling, but Brantley did not try to get up, and Simmons was not holding him down.
T2:
Arraez grounds out 4-3
T2:
Sano strikes out swinging
T2:
Cave…full count…triples to RF
I was going to say the same thing, but didn’t want to be accused of being an Alvarez hater.
