Agreed, although Walt’s pounding of our home field conditions pours a little bit of cold water on the thought of Meyers potentially catching fire.
He bolstered the Bullpen, no doubt. But he doesn’t have a Hinch or Cash to manage it correctly and now the starting 9 is weaker. I like Chas, but Straw is a little better

But now we have:

Not defensively he isn’t. Chas is solid there. He needs to make more consistent contact, and he is not as fast.

FWIW, Meyers was absolutely raking in Triple A. OPS over 1.000. He has some speed with 10 steals, too.
