I don’t look at advanced metrics so I don’t know about those “difficult plays,” but Mancini’s fielding percentage at first is .996 over 244 games where Yuli sits at .995 over 600-plus games. If Mancini can pick, he’ll be fine, but I think he will DH and play the outfield more. Just my opinion.

One poor start at AAA (immaculate inning notwithstanding) but his AA stats are good. Maybe Strom’s heirs can work their magic with him.

No disrespect to McDermott, but this was very low cost to get Mancini. Still plenty left in the cupboard to go get a backup catcher and another arm….or another bat.
