The Void: 2022-23 Offseason

By the World Series, AJ felt like there were zero relievers from the 2017 team on the 2017 team.

If Velander reups they will have seven bona fide starters. Will they go to a five or six man rotation? Who are the one or two that will go to the bull pen?
I really don’t want to see any traded unless it is a for a front line player under control. No such thing as excess starters.

I think Urquidy (or maybe Garcia) is going to be dangled as trade bait. But I’d sure like insurance against possible problems with JV and Lance. If we could get something useful for Whitley, I’d be all over that in a heartbeat, but that seems like wishful thinking.

I think the time for that was several years back.

Just me, and I may be the odd man out in thinking this, but I would not count on McCullers.

Completely agree. I can’t help but think his future is in the bullpen as a late inning guy.

Choi is a non-starter for me, but it ain’t my choice, and while Contreras can hit, he just seems like an ass hat to me. Too much Carlos Gomez in him for my liking. At least from what I can remember. I’d rather sign Bell. He can hit from both sides so you get the left bat. And if you want another, go get Nimmo. Do both and that lineup is formidable. Signing Nimmo to a 3-4 year deal however makes me wonder what the plan would be for Pedro Leon.

Oh, I agree. May be completely wrong, but given that he didn’t have any surgery, I’ll be a bit surprised if that problem doesn’t show up again.

I don’t know what the right move is, but if you sign a player like Nimmo then players like Leon can always be used in a trade down the line.

I think management might be in love with Meyers (especially his defense) and would not be surprised if he is given another shot in ST to show what he can do.

I think they’re going to give Meyers another chance too. He might possibly win a starting job, but could be a fine 4th outfielder.

I did not last year.

whelp…

Ridiculous.

What a stupid fucking move.

Are we about to trade someone to the Brewers for Stearns?

This is the dumbest contract expiration since Nolan.

Honestly… it’s not out of the question.

Crane has earned the right to pick his man, but it’s a bad look.

It is possible, but Stearns has said he wants to spend more time with his family, which is why he stepped back in Milwaukee.
