The Void: 2022-23 Offseason

Verlander is one pitch away from more surgery. McCullers is also. Brown will not be JV, but he will be solid. I do not view Garcia as untouchable. I wish we had kicked Eovaldi’s tires.

If the Blue Jays pitch worth a damn this coming season, they are going to be a handful.

Bad news:

ETA: I think I got the wrong Gurriel here.

It would have been magnanimous of him to accept demotion to a utility role after anchoring 1b for the entirety of the dynastic run.

Not sure that’s legit. Lourdes went to AZ as part of the Varsho trade; maybe that’s the Gurriel being referenced?

Oops. You are almost certainly right. That is Lourdes in the background. Mea maxima culpa.

That Space Lawyer account has been trolling stuff lately. Maybe it’s always a ‘parody’ account.

A few days ago he tweeted “Gurriel leaving Houston … to go to Cuba for Christmas.”

Yep, wrong Gurriel.

Damn, Bob, this nearly ruined my weekend

Thank Mark for saving it.

You could have read about the trade first.

He’s a journalist.

Hearing that the Astros and Reds are talking.

Reds looking for MLB pitching and MiLB OF

Astros talking about Alexis Diaz and MiLB infielders.

Diaz is a stud.

Diaz has five years of control left. Cost to acquire him will hurt but he is a stud.

Trying to connect the dots here. RP is probably the biggest strength of current club. I know you always want to get better but…

Wonder if this might be precursor to another deal?

Or they’re anticipating stretching out Abreu to start?

That what I hope/would do.

Maybe they feel Brown is ready for the rotation, they want to stick to a 5 man rotation, and Diaz is a better bullpen piece than Urquidy or Garcia?

If it happens, adding Diaz in place of Garcia or Urquidy would really be huge in the playoffs.

If the regular top 4-5 starters are healthy.
