Kind of stunned by that signing. I know they are in the market for a DH, but I’m sorry, he’s horrible. They would be better off DH one of their young outfielders they have an excess of. Gallo’s career numbers are atrocious. The sum bitch strikes out 44% of time and has a career batting average of .199.
Why in the hell do you pay someone $11M for that? They would have been better off throwing $11M at someone like Yuli to be their DH.

Figured he would not be the guy given the length of the deal he’d be seeking. Wondering now if Conforto gets a 3-year deal with an opt-out after year 1 and an uncomfortably high guarantee.
So it’ll be Chas/Meyers “who’s better” chatter and speculation about Leon.

EXACTLY!! His power has taken a nosedive. I can’t think of a more recent example of a team throwing away their money. Give him $11M is baffling. Hell, it’s pissed me off and I’m not a Twins fan!

Cody Bellinger got $17 million and has been terrible longer than Gallo, who at least had a good 2021 (batting average notwithstanding). Bellinger of course offers good CF defense but he’s basically Jose Siri with a less valuable bat.

I think there’s reason to believe Bellinger might improve. There’s no such hope for Gallo.
