The Void: 2022-23 Offseason

Tell him we want results.

He posted that he hasn’t heard from anyone but “They intended to sign him tonight”

He said maybe Twins came back with a last minute offer.

I intended to work out tonight. Neither happened.

I wonder if the Phillies would trade Garrett Stubbs for Logan Cerny?

Ouch.

Parroting, the NL East is going to be insane next year. Three very good teams each all-in.

The Giants should re-assess their strategy given the landscape and their failures to-date.

Futures markets are tempting me: you can own NYM + PHI for same price as LAD.

If you want to kill 15 minutes and relive the 9th inning of game 1 against Seattle, this is a great breakdown:

A few ideas - not well researched (injuries, contracts etc).

  1. Sal Perez
  2. Yasmani Grandal
  3. Danny Jansen/A Kirk
  4. Gary Sanchez
  5. Omar Narvaez

Or

Lee/Yainer/Varsho – hitter first type of #2

Anyone else we should be thinking about? Not trying to play GM, more trying to figure out all the viable options or boundaries of possibilities.

Curt Casali?

Gary Sanchez?!? Not “viable” IMO. Dude is coming off the worst offensive season of his career and I think we all know there is virtually no defensive value to help offset that.

Tucker Barnhart is another possibility. They were reported to be considering him as an option last week. Jorge Alfaro was non-tendered by the Padres earlier this offseason.

100% agree - not my cup of tea, and he bats right and has sucked, but the pool of possibilities is shrinking a bit with no more Contreras, Zunino, Vazquez, and Murphy all being signed or traded.

Gary Cole would be a better option
