I know its due to my age, born in 91, but I do not hate the Mets. I know the history but did not experience it. My baseball hate is reserved for the Rangers, Cardinals, Cubs and Yankees.

We don’t win the 2017 ALCS without him. And without that, who knows if any of the success that followed in the past 6 years happens.
He gave everything he had every time out.
And he stayed for the celebration in 2022 in stark contrast to GC.
He bolted for a bigger pile of cash than the giant pile in Houston. Disappointing but he’s still an All Time Astro.
I do hope the Mets lose every game for the rest of eternity though.

I think this is well said Doyce but I will go you one further: I have forgiven Cole. He had a bad night. It happens. Since then he’s been nothing but a gentleman about his time in Houston, has been praising of them as a team and defended their reputations.
I also don’t understand the Mets hate. It seems wasted on a team of such unique ineptitude. Hate the Braves? Yankees? Red Sox? Dodgers? Absolutely. But for the Mets and Cubs I have nothing but pity.
