The Void: 2022-23 Offseason

I have negative numbers confidence in McCullers. Abreu may be a starter in waiting like Javier was. We need to do something with Paredes too. He has nothing more to prove in AAA.

Two questions …

  1. What could go wrong?
  2. Will they be selling popcorn when it does?

Given that Rodon’s reported asking price is 6 years at $30M apiece, I suspect the Astros are not seriously in the running.

Yeah, I did not know what he is after.

Getting him to throw strikes would be a good start.

Check his stats this year. Or maybe you just want to give me shit. Either way, Paredes had a good year.

Ditto!!! I worry that his arm issues are going to be recurring.

I think he might be the middle class deGrom: you’ll get really good pitching from him for maybe 80-100 innings a year.

I saw where Cole Hamels wants to pitch this year. At 38 he would be a great fit for their rotation.

I hope the Astros call Hamels just to tell him to fuck off.

Jansen to the Bosox on a 2 year deal.

I’m sure he won’t be at all freaked out by the Green Monster.

I wonder if the Red Sox are splashing all this money because they know Bogaerts is gone.

I wonder if the Astros are talking to Vazquez at all.

I think they’re talking to anyone who can play catcher.

So everyone but Gary Sanchez.

They are talking to Mitch Meluskey sometimes tomorrow so I hear.

Bogaerts is fascinating- the Red Sox have a lot more money than the Padres do, at least organically. Either they let him go or he did not want to stay. I’m down with a bag of popcorn watching either play out.

SNY clip on Yahoo has credible-sounding reporting on Judge staying with NYY, that he wanted to stay there as he wanted to win and thus left money on the table, all unlike JV.

Maybe Boston is aiming for Correa.
