I haven’t seen anything credible that the A’s are supplying any push on Murphy. St. Louis has basically announced they are trying to trade for him and he is worthy more to them than to the Astros.
Speaking of Murphy, I’m tasting some schadenfreude over Dale not getting any run for the HOF despite there being teammates on the committee.
From the same article BUWebguy shared above. A’s not looking for prospects.

Why? By every account, Dale Murphy is one of the nicest guys to ever play the game.

Most teams don’t want to trade away impact players who still have control, even for other impact players who still have control.
Its usually MLB players for prospects or salary relief.
Bell to Cleveland
Makes sense - they have a lot of high contact guys but little power, so he fills a hole.

Cleveland was also a runner-up for Abreu; Bell is a nice consolation prize there.
Astros news is hard to get.
